As can be seen in figure 1, the user is able to launch any OpenLab tool by just simply klicking the assosciated button. The launcher will than automatically execute the corresponding jar file.

In addition to that, the launcher will also take care about JavaVM arguments which are necessary by some applications.

To inform the user about the current state of a tool, the launcher will print useful information on its status field.

For debugging reasons, the launcher also monitors crucial parts of each tool and stores captured exception messages into log files.
